Adrienne Gelfand-Perine is a founding member and trustee of Vision of Wallkill, the vibrant community group behind such popular events as Weekend in Wallkill and the free summer Rhythm on the River Concert Series. She is the President of the Friends of the Wallkill Library. She is active in the Historical Society of Shawangunk and Gardiner, the local food pantry Wallkill Loaves and Fishes, and the Wallkill Women’s Club.

Like so many of us who call the hamlet home, Adrienne is motivated to make our hamlet—and all of Ulster County—an even better place to live. When elected to the Ulster County Legislature, District 13, Adrienne intends to be a bipartisan voice for constructive change.

Adrienne believes that our community needs public transportation, a farmers market, and the creation of a local economic task force to increase the tax base by attracting small businesses and encouraging tourism.

Southern Ulster is the backbone of Ulster County’s agricultural community. Yet, District 13 continues to struggle mightily with food insecurity and poverty. As your legislator, I will not allow the continued neglect of the Southern tier of Ulster County. Securing improvements for basic community resources like connectivity, public transportation, and food security will be vital in securing a brighter future for District 13.
